The North Central Housing Authority does not provide emergency housing. If you are in the Devils Lake area and in need of emergency housing, you may want to contact the following agencies who are not affiliated with NCHA.

Where should I start?
Start by Downloading or Saving NCHA Application
Public Housing or Housing Assistance Programs are filled from a waiting list that runs from several months to four years, depending on the need, due to a regional housing crunch. Click here to learn more regarding Application and Waiting List Process.
Identity Documents copies must be submitted along with application at the time of office drop off, mail, e-mail or website upload process. If required copies of Identity Documents are not received, your application will be considered as an incomplete and will not be processed.
You can apply online or download our Application here. Once application is completed you can either Fax, mail or e-mail application back to our office.
Which copies Identity Documents I need to submit?
- Social Security Cards Copies – for all household members.
- Birth Certificate Copies – for all household members.
- Photo ID Copies – for all household members age of 18 and older.

What will happen next?
In order to help those in great need, our housing authority implemented local preferences. If your application has been processed and you have been foudnd eligible to be placed on Waiting List, you will receive a letter stating that you have been placed on the waiting list according to our local preferences.
